Technology today, and how it's changing our future.
Quote:
"The new classroom should teach the huge array of complex skills that come under the heading of digital literacy. And it should make students accountable on the Web, where they should regularly be aiming, from grade-school on, to contribute to a wide range of wiki projects." (Heffernen, August 26, 2011)
Reaction:
Heffernens quote states and proves that technology is changing in today's world whether we agree with it or not. Technology changes more and more each day, week, month, and even year. We see this with our cell phones, computers, TVs, and other electronics we use each day. We are constantly trying to keep up with society as it changes so quickly. The article mentioned children are being prepared for careers we don't even know exist yet. This is why its so important to teach children in schools the skills they need to know with our constantly changing technology. The older generation shouldn't shy away from this; we all should embrace new technology because it truly is our future. Technology is to help make our lives easier, why wouldn't you want to give it a try?

I feel that this video compliments the reading very well, it stresses how education and technology is so important for our future and for us. I realized we watched this in class, but the article made me think back to this the entire time, with an actual visual. I feel it expresses every aspect of how important technology is for our future and children.
